Shared Medical Record

To begin the building blocks of a health information exchange through implementation of a shared electronic health record system among health care providers in Palm Beach County to increase continuity of care and patient safety and improve patient outcomes.

Progress to Date
The Alliance has acquired 21 Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with health care entities within Palm Beach County to allow HIPAA compliant sharing of the Protected Health Information. Additionally, the Alliance has established appropriate procedures and protocols for the infrastructure to implement the AllCare system with its business associates. The Alliance has successfully completed the first two interfaces between the FAU safety net clinics' VistA electronic health record and Glades General Hospital's HMS electronic health record now permits the submission of live data form these organizations.

The Alliance is now working with the Department of Health to complete the interface with their electronic health record for their seven clinics.
