Palm Beach County Community Health Alliance is an alliance of funders and providers of indigent care health services in the County. Its goals are to:

  • Facilitate the coordination of and access to quality health care for the uninsured and underinsured residents of Palm Beach County;
  • Create new capacity in the health care delivery system;
  • Maximize existing health care resources;
  • Promote enrollment in appropriate health and human service programs; minimize duplication of services;
  • Assure appropriate continuity of care; and,
  • Return value to its member organizations and the persons they serve.

Palm Beach County Community Health Alliance began in 2002 with the release of the Palm Beach County Community Health Assessment (available through the publications section of the Quantum Foundation web site – www.quantumfnd.org).

The report, prepared by Professional Research Consultants and the Access Project, involved nearly 1,800 telephone interviews, key informant interviews and focus groups -- and called for creation of a body to help coordinate and improve the provision of the indigent health care services in Palm Beach County.

This body, initially named the Palm Beach County Health Care Coordinating Committee and which changed its name to Palm Beach County Community Health Alliance, Inc. January 2004, began meeting in January 2003 and has met nine times;sub-committees have met much more frequently.
